Ensuring the Arts for Any
Given Child

Arts Education for Years to Come

In December of 2010, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. selected Southern Nevada to participate in the Any Given Child national initiative. This initiative assists local communities to develop strategic plans to ensure access to quality arts education for all students in grades K-8. After a year of data collection and strategic planning, the Southern Nevada Any Given Child Community Arts Team created the vision and goals to move this local initiative forward. The CommunityArts Team is comprised of leaders from local jurisdictions, arts organizations, businesses, and foundations – all committed to “ensuring the arts for Any Given Child in Southern Nevada.” The Smith Center continues to serve as the lead agency for the Southern Nevada Any Given Child Initiative.

On January 27, 2012, the community arts team charged with developing the program publicly announced the phase one results of the Southern Nevada Any Given Child Initiative. The celebratory event announced survey results and goals for the collaborative project.
