Give your favorite teacher something they won’t forget—a nomination for The Heart of Education Awards! We encourage you to write a letter of recommendation on their behalf—200 words or less—and let us know why they deserve to be recognized with a Heart of Education award.
While attendance, test scores and awards are important, we are really looking for how your favorite teacher went above and beyond to make a difference in their students’ lives. Tell us how they quietly worked before and after school to make a difference. Did they manage the Student Council or P.T.A., or create new after-school programs? Did they get eyeglasses for a needy student or send them home with food for the weekend? How did their students achieve excellence due to their extra efforts?
Once written, please send your letter of recommendation directly to the teacher you are nominating and ask them to complete their application at www.TheHeartofEducation.org. They will be responsible for attaching your letter of recommendation to their application.
The deadline for a teacher to complete their application is Friday, January 29, 2016, so send your recommendation early! Please note, the number of nominations a teacher receives is not taken into account during the evaluation process.
This award is open to current, full-time, teachers with the Clark County School District (CCSD) who have more than three years teaching experience with CCSD. Teachers in after-school, private schools or studios, or other educational settings are not eligible at this time.
