The Smith Center celebrated its fifth anniversary on March 28, 2017 – a promising sign of our development into an established fixture of the community. It’s fitting that we entered this important year with another benchmark, welcoming our 2 millionth patron in December 2016. This impressive number demonstrates how residents across Southern Nevada have embraced the world-class performances we provide, and we will continue to explore new avenues to further engage with our audience members.
The Smith Center has tallied numerous achievements since opening to the public. Since opening our doors, we have presented a total of 1,906 performances, including such renowned artists and groups as the Cleveland Orchestra, Joffrey Ballet, Itzhak Perlman, Wynton Marsalis and Renée Fleming.
We have also received numerous accolades, including being ranked among the top 10 theaters in the world by Pollstar magazine. In addition, The Smith Center has provided numerous education and outreach programs to local students and teachers at no cost to schools, such as student matinee performances for more than 316,000 students.
