Salt Lake City, or as it’s referenced in The Book of Mormon, “Sal Tlay Ka Siti,” hasn’t been a locale to inspire many a musical, but it does happen to be where the blockbuster musical opens up before moving into the journey of two Mormon missionaries to Uganda. Created by three of the funniest writers in pop culture – Matt Stone and Trey Parker(South Park, Team America: World Police) and Bobby Lopez (Avenue Q) – they say the genesis of The Book of Mormon came in a moment the first night they met. Watch the video below to learn how this meeting happened by chance.
