“Ebullient performances by musicians who convey the pleasure of playing together.” – The New York Times
Nine-time Grammy winner and legendary trumpet player Herb Alpert has continued to sell out shows nationwide alongside his wife, Grammy-winning vocalist Lani Hall, since they began touring together in 2006. On the heels of the October 2018 release of Alpert’s latest album “Music Volume 3,” reimagining his hits with The Tijuana Brass, the couple makes its highly anticipated return to The Smith Center.
Together, these music icons perform their greatest hits, backed by their high-voltage band featuring some of the country’s most sought-after musicians, who have worked with legendary artists such as Justin Timberlake, the Black Eyed Peas, Phil Collins and Elton John.
An inductee in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Alpert’s extraordinary musicianship has earned him five No. 1 hits, 14 platinum albums and more than 72 million record sales. Still relevant after performing for over 40 years, he remains world renowned for his recordings and performances with Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, which recorded 14 Top 40 singles, including “A Taste of Honey,” “What Now My Love” and “This Guy’s In Love With You.”
Prior to touring with Alpert, Hall led a prolific solo career performing around the world and recording more than 20 albums in three different languages. She launched her career as lead singer with the Sergio Mendes’ breakthrough group Brasil ’66, winning her Grammy in 1986 for “Es Facile Amor."
Enjoy an unforgettable evening with two legends showcasing their love for music and each other.
