Jazz Group of the Year nominee The Lao Tizer Band returns by strong demand to Myron’s Cabaret Jazz in conjunction with its highly anticipated 2018 album and film release, “Songs From The Swinghouse.” This all-star collection of musicians is led by acclaimed pianist, keyboardist and composer Lao Tizer, nominated for a Best New Jazz Artist National Smooth Jazz Award. Tizer will be joined by Grammy nominated bassist Ric Fierabracci (Chick Corea, Blood Sweat & Tears), Grammy nominated drummer Gene Coye (Larry Carlton, Terrence Blanchard), percussion legend Munyungo Jackson (Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder), and multi-instrumentalist Steve Nieves (Loggins & Messina).
This group will take you on a musical journey through diverse styles and influences, all encompassed in the cohesive shell of Tizer’s rich, smooth compositions.
Driven by an explosive mix of jazz, rock, classical, jam-band, Afro-Cuban and world rhythms, The Lao Tizer Band is a multi-cultural band that has established itself at the forefront of contemporary jazz. Performing its multi-faceted world fusion stylings across the globe, this group has been showcased at renowned events such as Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, the Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg, the Dubai Jazz Festival and the Festival International Providencia Jazz in Santiago, Chile.
