"...a sly, articulate musician who sounds comfortable in any era." - The New York Times
Award-winning singer-songwriter and Broadway performer Nellie McKay has exploded onto the music scene, with her sultry, vintage stylings featured in top television shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Mad Men,” “Weeds” and “Boardwalk Empire,” and her performances featured onscreen in films like “Rumor Has It” and “PS I Love You.” Influenced by throwback jazz, pop and indie rock, McKay sweeps audiences away with her melancholy variations of the Great American Songbook, and gives them a much-needed laugh with her satirical songs poking fun at politics and society.
McKay has appeared on numerous TV shows such as “The Late Show,” “Conan,” “Ferguson” and “The View,” and made frequent appearances on NPR and “A Prairie Home Companion.” She won a Theatre World Award for her portrayal of Polly Peachum on Broadway in “The Threepenny Opera,” which also starred Alan Cumming and Cyndi Lauper. McKay further co-created and starred in the award-winning Off-Broadway hit, “Old Hats.”
Don’t miss this fiercely talented artist performing a rich variety of musical stylings.
