“(DeLaria) swings hard, and scats and bends notes in a style that suggests a no-frills Betty Carter on steroids.” - The New York Times

Audiences nationwide know two-time SAG-Award winner Lea DeLaria for her standout role as Carrie “Big Boo” Black in the hit Netflix series “Orange is the New Black” – but DeLaria has also built a multifaceted career as an award-winning jazz vocalist, comedian and stage-and-screen actress. Now you can experience this renowned performer live and up close in her fresh new musical comedy act.

A celebrated chanteuse lauded for her energizing delivery and razor-sharp wit, DeLaria has recorded six critically acclaimed albums. She sang as the featured vocalist at the 50th Anniversary of the Newport Jazz Festival, and has performed in the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Chicago Symphony Center, Hollywood Bowl, The Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House.

Also prominent on Broadway and in top theater productions, DeLaria has received Obie and Theater World Awards, a Drama Desk nomination and an Ovation nomination.

Since DeLaria became the first openly gay comic on television in America, this has led to countless roles in hit television shows, including “Awkward,” “Clarence,” “Californication,” “The Oblongs,” “One Life to Live,” “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Will and Grace,” “Friends” and “Matlock.” She has also appeared in major films like “First Wives Club,” “Dear Dumb Diary” and “Edge of Seventeen.”

DeLaria is not one to shy away from comedy that will bite hard and elicit gales of laughter. Her new show features hits from her latest album, “House Of David: delaria+bowie=jazz,” and shows off not just DeLaria’s comic genius but her spectacular vocal range in songs such as “Fame,” “Young Americans” and “Let’s Dance.”

With DeLaria’s hit blend of velvet-smooth vocals, biting wit and sassy stage presence, this promises to be a spectacular performance.
