Across his 64 acclaimed years in the entertainment industry, two-time Grammy-nominated percussion legend Pete Escovedo is world renowned for breaching the musical divide between smooth jazz, salsa, Latin jazz and contemporary music. Personally mentored by icon Tito Puente, Escovedo’s celebrated career includes touring the globe for years with Carlos Santana and playing on three of the music titan’s albums, as well as touring and collaborating with musical greats like Prince, Herbie Hancock, The Temptations and Stevie Wonder. Escovedo, father of renowned percussionist Sheila E., also performed at the White House twice for President Barack Obama.
Following the release of his hit 2018 album, which earned Escovedo his second Grammy nomination, he now delivers his energizing rhythms and vibrant original hits with his powerhouse, Latin-jazz orchestra. One of the top ensembles in the country, Escovedo’s orchestra boasts a lively, five-person horn section and the top rhythm and percussion artists of the music industry.
