“...a one-man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus.” — The New York Times
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and guitarist Raul Midón has earned renown as one of music’s most distinctive artists with his signature combination of silky tenor voice and percussive guitar style that crosses jazz, pop, R&B and Latin. His diverse career includes performing with Shakira, Julio Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera. Not only have Midón’s music videos earned over 1.2 million views on social media, but the guitarist was also invited to tour the U.S. as a featured artist in the Monterey Jazz Festival On Tour, which included the likes of jazz stars Nicholas Payton, Ravi Coltrane and Gerald Clayton.
Midón’s guitar playing is a syncopated, flamenco-and jazz-infused wonder in which bass, harmony and melodic lines fly from the fretboard. Midón has also perfected his singular improvisational mouth-horn technique, in which he creates a bebop “trumpet” solo entirely with his lips.
Blind since birth, Midón’s virtuoso stylings have been featured on “The Late Show” and he has performed and discussed his unique life journey in a TED Talk.
Experience the extraordinary artistry of this wildly talented musician as he performs electrifying originals and vibrant pop classics and shares inspiring insights from his life.
