Hailing from a storied performance career spanning Broadway, film and television, Ben has cemented his status as an entertainment icon, including starring in numerous hit Broadway musicals, such as “Wicked,” “Hair,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and his Tony and Drama Desk Award winning role in “Pippin.”
Performing worldwide across his 40-year career, Vereen delivers a dazzling show of beloved tunes that showcase his masterful vocals and charisma. Combining a tribute to Broadway, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., he transports audiences on a tour of both contemporary and classic melodies, such as “Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries” from “Fosse” and “Defying Gravity” from “Wicked.”
Ben’s successful expansion into film and television includes starring alongside Richard Gere in “Time Out of Mind,” as well as featured roles in television hits such as Amazon show “Sneaky Pete” and CBS shows “Magnum P.I.” and “BULL,” plus guest roles in top shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “NCIS” and “Law and Order.” Ben further starred in Twentieth Century Fox’s “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and costarred opposite Patti LaBelle in feature film “Mama, I Want to Sing!” The gifted performer also coaches music sensation Usher in both singing and acting.
Ben has performed in top venues such as Carnegie Hall and the renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center where he recently sold out a week. Ben has also been inducted into both the Theater Hall of Fame and the Dance Hall of Fame.
